Matthew Humphrey

Background: A heavily sought recruit from Hales Franciscan High School class of 2008. As a silver medalist of the 2008 Men's USA basketball team (U18), he committed to University of Oregon. While being very dedicated on the court, he was equally invested and committed in his academic pursuits. Post college, Matthew had the opportunity to complete training camp with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants NBA Developmental League team, and soon after played professionally in London, Canada; for a short stint with the London Lightening in the Canadian League. Having the opportunity to play for multiple Division 1 universities, coupled with his professional opportunities, Matthew has built a network that is rich in talent, knowledge, and resources, all the while keeping a strong love and passion for the game of basketball. He and his program are dedicated to working with, and advocating for aspiring athletes, professionals, youth, and all other patrons of the community.

Josh Washburn

Background: With 20 years of playing experience across the country. 10+ years of physical training experience. Learning from some of the best basketball/athletic trainers in the world Josh brings a wealth of knowledge to The Farm. Josh attended University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated from Carthage College. He graduated averaging 23 points per game and leading the conference (CCIW) in 3 pointers made. Josh takes pride in helping and teaching others. He will work with you to improve your skills and help you become elite in your sport.

Zy Strowder

Background: As a highly skilled and accomplished basketball player with more than a decade of experience, Zy has transitioned into a successful coaching career. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the court, having honed her skills through years of dedication and hard work. Zy’s coaching philosophy centers around developing players' technical abilities, tactical understanding, and mental resilience. She is committed to creating a supportive and empowering environment where athletes can thrive and reach their full potential. Let's work together to achieve greatness on and off the court!

Baseball Trainers

Frank Sarillo

Background: Coach Sarillo is currently a coach at Lake Forest Scouts and before that he was at Northern Knights Baseball (College Exposure) program. While there he assisted in developing 15-17 year old athletes in growing their baseball and life skills to give them the best opportunity to earn a college scholarship. Prior to Coaching at Northern Knights he founded and coached at Grayslake Rams (Pride) girls travel softball.

Jeff Lindberg

Background: Coach Lindberg joins The Farm after coaching for 4 years at Northern Knights Baseball (College Exposure) program and Player’s Edge Baseball Academy. He helped develop 14-18 year old athletes on and off the field. While with the Knights, he also gave individual lessons and group clinics for kids of all ages. Jeff grew up in Wauconda, IL and went to Wauconda High School where he earned All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors. He went on to play college baseball at Trinity International University where he was the starting shortstop for 4 years and named captain his senior year. He majored in Sport and Wellness Management with a minor in Coaching. He worked as a Sports Data Analyst at Stats Perform for 5 years, providing data and insights to MLB teams, broadcast teams, and other media outlets. This has influenced a data driven approach to effectively measure performance and improvement in athletes. Coach Lindberg brings extensive knowledge in defense, hitting, baserunning, and pitching. He enjoys teaching the fundamentals as well as pushing players to their absolute best. He wants his players to love and enjoy the game, learn valuable life lessons, and build lifelong relationships.

Joseph Jagiello

Background: Joe played baseball at Maine West High School and at Concordia University Wisconsin. He brings over 10 years of coaching experience at the youth and collegiate level including volunteer assistant coach at Oakton Community College, assisting Southern Nazarene University and Concordia University Wisconsin clinics, along with coaching Lake Forest Scouts 8-12U. He wants to give players the physical and mental tools that they need to prepare for the next level of play. He is happy to share his hitting/pitching skills with players to focus on the mechanics and fundamentals.

  • Weekdays during 3:30pm-5:30/6pm. Availability can be flexible depending on the athlete's schedule. 

Derek Hall

Background: For the past 15 years Coach Derek Hall has been a head coach for the Lake Forest Baseball Association. He was an NCAA Division 1 player for the University of Tennessee at Martin in the Ohio Valley Conference. Coach Hall graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2005, and has been coaching baseball ever since. He began his coaching career at The North Shore Baseball Academy in Highland Park, and also taught at Slammers Academy, Bat Speed Academy, and CrossFit Freedom, all here on the North Shore. Coach Hall was a Lake Forest High School standout for three years, he then transferred to Avon Old Farms Prep School in Connecticut on an athletic scholarship, during which time his team won two League championships.

Lane Ochs

Background: Lane was a 3 sport athlete all through high school playing football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to play baseball at Triton College and graduated from UW-Parkside. Softball Trainers

Crissy Buck-Ziegler

Crissy Buck-Ziegler has over 25 years of Division I Softball playing and coaching experience.   In 1997, Buck-Ziegler was one of the nation’s top recruits.  That summer she was invited alongside future Olympians to Olympic Festivals, which was limited to 66 of the nation’s top players.  Buck-Ziegler went on to play at UCLA where she experienced the highest level of success as a vital member of the 1999 National Championship team.  During Buck-Ziegler’s career, UCLA appeared in four Women’s College World Series and was in the National Championship 3 of the 4 years.

Immediately upon graduation from UCLA, she moved into an assistant coaching position at Oregon State University, where in 2006 they won the Pac-10 and experienced the university’s first ever Women’s College World Series appearance.  She remained at Oregon State until 2011, when she became only the third Head Coach at California State University, Bakersfield.  In 2016, she led the program to its first conference championship and their first Division I regional appearance.  During her coaching career, Buck-Ziegler has produced multiple NCAA Division I All-Americans, NCAA Division I statistical leaders in offensive and defensive categories and championship teams.  Buck-Ziegler knows what players and teams need to develop a championship mindset.   

Crissy and her family moved to the area in the summer of 2022, when her husband became a Strength and Conditioning coach at Northwestern University for the Men’s Basketball team. 

She has spent the past year coaching her 9-year-old son’s baseball and basketball teams.

Lane Ochs

Brian Ginn

Brian Ginn has been a QB and WR coach for over 20 years. He coached for the Chicago Bears for 2 years and prior to that he was at the University of Delaware for 18 years. Over his coaching years Coach Ginn has worked with Quarterbacks, Tight Ends, Wide Receivers, and Running Backs. Before he was a coach he was the Quarterback at the University of Delaware where he was teammates with Matt Naggy.

Strength & Conditioning Trainers

Corbin Cornelison

Background: Coach C is a highly decorated combat veteran with 22 years in U.S. Special Operations serving as an elite Reconnaissance Marine, Marine Scout Sniper, and Navy SEAL operator. He is also a certified trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), and both a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Coach C is passionate about helping people from all backgrounds and ability levels adequately prepare for the demands of life, sport, and profession in the most efficient way possible. In addition to his operational experience, Coach C has held numerous instructor positions and leadership roles throughout Naval Special Warfare (NSW) ranging from the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) schoolhouse in Coronado, CA, to the NSWs Training Detachment where he assisted in teaching and evaluating his fellow SEALs in Land Warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures in preparation for deployments overseas. Coach C was also hand-selected to help lead the Navy's Warrior Toughness Program, a Navy-wide human performance initiative arming enlisted sailors and junior officers with the tools needed to perform their duties and responsibilities under stress.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California Polytechnic State University Humboldt and a Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. He has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since 1999. He holds the highest recognized certification from the NSCA, being recognized as a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach Emeritus (RSCC*E). He is also certified through USA Weightlifting as an Olympic weightlifting coach as well as Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
