Josh Washburn

Background: With 20 years of playing experience across the country. 10+ years of physical training experience. Learning from some of the best basketball/athletic trainers in the world Josh brings a wealth of knowledge to The Farm. Josh attended University of Minnesota Duluth and graduated from Carthage College. He graduated averaging 23 points per game and leading the conference (CCIW) in 3 pointers made.

Specialties: 
  • Basketball strength training. Balancing and strengthening the entire body. Starting from strengthening the feet, ankles, knees, hamstrings, hips, lower back, core, chest, upper back, shoulders, elbows, wrists and neck. All done in a safe scalable way for any level of athlete. He also works on basketball skills training, ball handling, finishing, passing, shooting, Basketball IQ and understanding the game. 
  • Adult training for any age. Helping with strength and balance throughout the body. Using Safe scalable workouts that will improve overall physical health. 
Josh takes pride in helping and teaching others. He will work with you to improve your skills and help you become elite in your sport.
 
Availability:
  • Lessons are 30 mins and 60 mins depending on each athlete
  • Weeknights and Saturdays 9:00am-3:00pm. Availability can be flexible depending on athletes schedule

 

Lane Ochs

Background: Lane was a 3 sport athlete all through high school playing football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to play baseball at Triton College and graduated from UW-Parkside. Since college Lane has been the Varsity football coach, Varsity baseball coach and a strength and conditioning coach at Indian Trail High School.
 
Specialties:
  • Baseball, basketball, and football training. As well as speed/strength and conditioning training.  
 
Coaching has always been a passion of Lane's both as a player and now a coach. Giving back to the youth sports community holds a special place in his heart as he still remembers all of my coaches and the impact that they had on him as both a player and person. Being a role model for the kids is what drives him to be a better coach/person each day.

Frank Sarillo

Background: Coach Sarillo is currently a coach at Lake Forest Scouts and before that he was at Northern Knights Baseball (College Exposure) program. While there he assisted in developing 15-17 year old athletes in growing their baseball and life skills to give them the best opportunity to earn a college scholarship. Prior to Coaching at Northern Knights he founded and coached at Grayslake Rams (Pride) girls travel softball.

  • Trains baseball and softball players 
  • Focus on core fundamentals in hitting, fielding, throwing, and base-running
Availability:
  • Lessons are 30 mins and 60 mins depending on each athlete

Jack Feeley

Background: Jack is currently coaching his second year with the Scouts. Before that he was a 4 year starting centerfielder for Benedictine University. He holds the school record for most triples in a career. 
 
Specialties: 
  • Training baseball players. Jack focuses on the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, throwing, and base-running.
 
Availability:
  • Lessons are 30 mins and 60 mins depending on each athlete
  • Weeknights after 4:30pm and weekends 9:00am-3:00pm (times on the weekend can change depending on when his team has games)

Jeff Lindberg

Background: Coach Lindberg joins The Farm after coaching for 4 years at Northern Knights Baseball (College Exposure) program and Player’s Edge Baseball Academy. He helped develop 14-18 year old athletes on and off the field. While with the Knights, he also gave individual lessons and group clinics for kids of all ages. Jeff grew up in Wauconda, IL and went to Wauconda High School where he earned All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors. He went on to play college baseball at Trinity International University where he was the starting shortstop for 4 years and named captain his senior year. He majored in Sport and Wellness Management with a minor in Coaching. He worked as a Sports Data Analyst at Stats Perform for 5 years, providing data and insights to MLB teams, broadcast teams, and other media outlets. This has influenced a data driven approach to effectively measure performance and improvement in athletes. Coach Lindberg brings extensive knowledge in defense, hitting, baserunning, and pitching. He enjoys teaching the fundamentals as well as pushing players to their absolute best. He wants his players to love and enjoy the game, learn valuable life lessons, and build lifelong relationships.

  • Training baseball players. Jeff focuses on the fundamentals of defense, hitting, pitching and base-running.

  • Weeknights 6-9pm and weekend mornings possible.

Joseph Jagiello

Background: Joe played baseball at Maine West High School and at Concordia University Wisconsin. He brings over 10 years of coaching experience at the youth and collegiate level including volunteer assistant coach at Oakton Community College, assisting Southern Nazarene University and Concordia University Wisconsin clinics, along with coaching Lake Forest Scouts 8-12U. He wants to give players the physical and mental tools that they need to prepare for the next level of play. He is happy to share his hitting/pitching skills with players to focus on the mechanics and fundamentals. 
 
Specialties: 
  • Baseball Training. Coach Joe likes to focus on the mechanics and fundamentals of hitting and pitching.  
 
Availability:
  • Lessons are 30 mins and 60 mins depending on each athlete
  • Weekdays during 3:30pm-5:30/6pm. Availability can be flexible depending on the athlete's schedule. 

Derek Hall

Background: For the past 15 years Coach Derek Hall has been a head coach for the Lake Forest Baseball Association. He was an NCAA Division 1 player for the University of Tennessee at Martin in the Ohio Valley Conference. Coach Hall graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2005, and has been coaching baseball ever since. He began his coaching career at The North Shore Baseball Academy in Highland Park, and also taught at Slammers Academy, Bat Speed Academy, and CrossFit Freedom, all here on the North Shore. Coach Hall was a Lake Forest High School standout for three years, he then transferred to Avon Old Farms Prep School in Connecticut on an athletic scholarship, during which time his team won two League championships.

Specialties:
  • Coach Hall concentrates on baseball. He was a college catcher and first baseman and now specializes in hitting instruction. He has over 15 years of instructional experience in pitching, hitting and the catcher position. 

Availability:

  • Lessons are 30 minutes or 60 minutes. 
  • Group sessions are also available.
